ABOUT ALEX
(they/she/surprise!)
An MFA graduate of UCLA’s prestigious Producer’s Program, Alexandra Creswick was most recently Vice President of Development & Production for Paradox Studios. While there she oversaw the company’s entire development slate, consisting of both film and TV projects, and was responsible for sourcing new material and talent, overseeing projects in all states of production, and evaluating preexisting IP for adaptation from sister company AMBI Films’ extensive library. While at Paradox she was an Associate Producer on Mark Steven Johnson’s Finding Steve McQueen, and the Development & Production Executive on Black Butterfly and Trading Paint.
Previously, they learned the intricacies of foreign financing and film markets as Creative Director for John Ptak's Arsenal Films, liaising closely with Untitled Entertainment. From there she moved to BiFrost Pictures as Director of Development, serving as the development executive on several projects including Paul Bettany’s directorial debut Shelter, starring Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Mackie, and Don Cheadle’s Miles Ahead, on which she also served as an Associate Producer.
She has produced numerous short films and the hit webseries School of Thrones and Muzzled the Musical. Her short film Emit, starring Heroes alum Jack Coleman, has been well received at many film festivals, including SciFi London, NBCU’s Diversity Showcase, Fantasia International Film Festival, and aired on PBS as part of their 2014 Shorts Showcase. In 2021, they shot the incredibly poignant short film Weak, written and directed by JS Mayank, starring Katherine Castro and Bridget Reagan. Look for it on the festival circuit in 2022!
In 2019, Alex produced their first indie feature film The Blackout, a heartwarming semi-improvised story about community and connection written and directed by Daniela de Carlo and starring an incredible, diverse cast of up-and-coming talent. It was acquired and released by Gravitas on Amazon Prime in 2020. Watch it today!
Alex is currently an independent development consultant and creative physical producer under her banner Thornback Productions, and looking forward to hearing how we might be able to work together!
